Johnny, 30, mentally slightly retarded, lives alone with his aunt in Los Angeles. All day he prowls about the city, eyeing the women, trying to approach them, which often ends disastrously. Mortally ill, the aunt finds a nurse for Johnny, whom she also entrusts with selling the house, in order to raise the money for placing Johnny in an asylum, when it becomes necessary. Johnny immediately falls in love with her, a university student called Amie-Jo, who is in love with Tom, the musician, and when this one moves in with them, Johnny attempts suicide. Taking advantage of Amie-Jo's absence, Tom sells the house and runs away with the money. Amie-Jo visits Johnny in the asylum. After her visit the boy jumps out of the window. (Verleiher-Text)
