Aaron Green ist Angestellter bei einem Plattenlabel. Als sein Chef von ihm verlangt, den britischen Rockstar Aldous Snow zu dessen großen Comeback ins Greek Theatre nach L.A. zu bringen, wittert Aaron seine große Chance. Zu diesem Zeitpunkt ahnt er allerdings noch nicht, dass sich aus dieser scheinbar harmlosen Aufgabe ein sehr anspruchsvoller und kniffliger Auftrag entwickelt. Der eigenwillige Rockstar Snow ist zwar ein witziger, freundlicher Typ, jedoch ist es sehr schwer ihn unter Kontrolle zu bringen. Aaron und Aldous ergänzen sich gegenseitig auf der Reise zum Gig. Der exzentrische Aldous beschließt sein Leben etwas zu ändern und Aaron lernt das wilde Leben eines Rockstars kennen, mit allen Höhen und Tiefen. Trotz alledem vergisst Aaron nicht den Grund der Reise. Es wird immer knapper den divenhaften Rockstar zu dessen wichtigem Comeback-Auftritt zu bringen. Werden die beiden es noch rechtzeitig schaffen? (RTL II)

Bekiffte Reste vom prima Humor aus dem viel besseren und konzeptionellen Film Nie wieder Sex mit der Ex. Eine Komödie mit Jonah Hill und Russell Brand muss man aber einfach mögen. Und das tschechische Plagiat soll jemanden ins Kino locken?

I have one small problem with "Apatowkas," a peculiar branch of the comedy subgenre. Either they really entertain me, or they completely miss the mark for me. This means their humor, outlook on life, and feeling. Get him to the Greek is the latter for me. I’m not saying I didn't laugh. I wasn't even bored. Yet I just found the whole thing cruelly pointless, when every five minutes you realize that the film is pausing in place and the plot isn't really going anywhere. Don't use Hill, maybe Brand... Stoeller took a step back.

An unappealing, shabby atmosphere, a poor cast of fairly untalented actors, and artificial humor. Any comparison of this "fun" to The Hangover is also offensive. Because here again, someone has made an attempt at a pathetic ripoff. I appreciate the effort, but you don't go to the movies for effort. A waste of time, very boring.

I like Russell Brand and he suits me in basically any role, even though I prefer him a little more in calmer, less aggressive ones. But that doesn't mean that I didn't like him here. I had a great time, and even though the plot is quite simple and banal, there is still quite a lot of interesting and entertaining things happening around it. Occasionally it is a bit cliché, but for me it's an enjoyable movie.
