Alex steals his first wallet the day he leaves the shelter. It seems that burglary is his vocation, as this is what separated him from his mother ten years ago when she taught him how to pick pockets. He meets a first-time kleptomaniac who only accelerates his transformation into what he has been trying to avoid for all these years. In the end, love will force him to make a final decision. Thieves is an average film with a bland cast and a simple (if somewhat original) story. I'm not saying that I was bored, but this film is a quickly forgettable affair that unfortunately only builds up at the very end. In short, a film from which much more could have been squeezed out, but it still doesn't offend - a light dramatic recreation for leisure.
