In one of the centres of a place remote from the rest of the world, there lives the president of the hunting company, fond of dressing and shooting at paper birds. On the canvas set up in his garden, his deeds are recorded by a painter. The president's daughter Melinda, still regarded as a child, is secretly in love with Martin Miguel, the photographer. The photographer takes photos of young girls and has recently had four children at once from four girls not yet of age. The station, too, is a central place, where no train stops, as well as the barber's shop, where the husbands conspire against the photographer and give him a heavy beating. The idyllic world is sometimes disturbed by some mysterious beast of the forest, but nobody has seen it yet, although paintings are being made of it. The president and the beaten-up photographer die in hospital where resurrection is said not to take place... (Duna Műhely)
