Das Kaufhaus "Cole" steht vor einem echten Problem: Der engagierte Weihnachtsmann hat sich kurz vor Beginn der Parade betrunken und fällt aus. Glücklicherweise erklärt sich Kriss Kringle spontan bereit, die Rolle zu übernehmen und trifft dabei voll ins Schwarze. Die Kinder lieben ihn. Miracle on 34th Street is a sweet, light-hearted, likeable and simple story about a man who is the physical representation of the intangible symbol of Christmas, Santa Claus himself. On the whole, it's an average film with a slightly hammy cast and a simple script. Little Mara Wilson is cute and Richard Attenborough is charismatic. In short, a film that undoubtedly belongs to the holidays of peace and quiet, but it is nothing special or memorable.
