The Swedish painter Anders Zorn is poised on the brink of an international break-through. His pictures are causing a sensation in Stockholm, Paris, Chicago and New York. His success is confirmed in 1900 when he wins the oil painting Grand Prix at the World Exhibition in Paris. But despite this Zorn remains a rebel and refuses to compromise his artistic integrity. His wife, who comes from the upper classes, waits for him at the Zorn estate in Mora, well aware that her husband is indulging in sexual adventures with other women. Zorn manages to hold his fragile marriage together despite his wife's increasing bitterness. But during one of his many journeys Zorn meets the woman who is to become the love of his life. Her name is Emilie and she is the beautiful wife of the American sculptor Paul W Bartlett. (Verleiher-Text)
