The fact that HBO decided to turn the story of Franklin D. Roosevelt into a movie is definitely very commendable. There is nothing to be said against the quality of this movie. And given that it’s a TV movie, the story isn’t too bad either. You see, the authors decided to put politics aside and create a story about how Franklin got a clean soul. After I saw this movie and admired the excellent performance given by Kenneth Branagh, who undergoes quite a development over the course of the movie, I have a similar opinion of this president as every American who lived in his era. Well, it’s hard to say how many people who lived in his era are still alive today, but it they were around, they would confirm that Franklin was definitely worth it. He learnt how to be human… and that’s something not every statesman can do. ()
