Yuko Takai and other Japanese political activists in the Middle East were kidnapped and held as hostages. On her return to Japan, Yuko is repproached for not committing suicide and for making the Japanese look weak. The story is based on true events, the kidnapping of three Japanese political activists by Islamic terrorists in the Iraq of April 2004. (San Sebastian International Film Festival)
