Ágh Csaba, an eighteen-year-old country labourer spends his time gobbling, drinking, being violent and possessive, until he gets wounded and learns that he has bone-tuberculosis. Once a presumptuous creature of impulse, he becomes a hospitalised patient. His foot has to be amputated. Due to his sufferings and the loss of a nice little girl, he changes into an open and helpful person. His love towards his physician heartens him. After his recovery he faces everyday life stronger in spirit. (Verleiher-Text)
