Akcja pod Arsenałem

The first film adaptation of one of the most renowned stories from World War II in Poland. It tells the story of three friends, members of the Szare Szeregi (Gray Ranks) Polish Underground organisation. When one of them is arrested by the Gestapo, the others decide to try to liberate him. The first part of the film is a series of images from occupied Warsaw and also a collective portrait of a group of young heroes who exchange school desks for existence on the edge between life and death. The second half of Jan Łomnicki's film very carefully reconstructs the legendary resistance action. (Febiofest)
