Englisch Many of Hermína Týrlová's films are interesting because, although they are primarily intended for young children, their subject matter and overall message appeal more to an adult audience. Like this piece, for example, which is at times unadulterated horror with almost psychedelic elements. I am thinking in particular of the scene when the blue apron flies with a paper swallow over some strange city, over which looms a huge eye that shoots black tufts at both of them, which then combine to form a ghostly snake with glowing red eyes that begins to devour the flowery clouds in which the apron and the swallow hide. The snake gets so stuffed that it explodes and its remains begin to whip up lightning bolts that burn the swallow to cinders. Now, tell me, would you put something like this to your little ones with their pure souls? Hermína Týrlová had balls! ()
