Der zehnjährige Max lebt oft in seiner Traumwalt, in der die Helden Sharkboy und Lavagirl phantastische Abenteuer erleben. Eines Tages tauchen die beiden in Max' Klassenzimmer auf und bitten ihn, sie auf ihren Heimatplaneten zu begleiten. Der wird von dem fiesen Mr. Elektro bedroht, den nur Max mit seiner blühenden Fantasie stoppen kann. (Super RTL)

It's a terrible mess, visually disgusting in some places, but then again, I won't curse Rodriguez for occasionally dabbling in something simpler. I understand him quite well, and it's evident that he's trying to make a movie for kids. Unfortunately, as well as he handles B-movies formally, these stories, especially with their messages shouting at you in the face, aren't as formally excellent.

Robert, for the sake of all beings on this planet, ban your son from writing and take some time off for a creative vacation yourself. I think a reflection on where your work is going at the moment would do you a hell of a lot of good. Thank you very much in advance.
