This is the film that really brought Amitabh Bachchan to the limelight for the first time, and yet it's not just his performance, it's primarily Rajesh Khanna's, who plays the dying man whose story Amitabh's character tells. Beautiful, touching, but not unnecessarily pathetic, and human. Also, the singing doesn't bother me either, and it's not hyper-modern. (23.03.2018)
