"Intellectual production film" about the engineers of the television transmission tower of Kékes. The members of the fanatic team led by Vas Máté work on setting up the television transmitter in isolation from their families and sometimes even breaching regulations. The elitist engineers are often in conflict with their bosses as well as with their subcontractors. Eszter, the psychologist of the factory wishes to examine the psychology of a group closed up together. After the inauguration of the transmitter of Kékes Bittermann arrives with a commission from Austria. One of the engineers, Kántor, fails to return from Vienna with his companions. Eszter and Vas fall in love, but he eventually returns to his wife. At home they have to complete working on the transmitter at Tokaj. Máté chases Frank, who suffers from xenophobia, to great heights in the tower. Frank, although the repair-work has been completed, leaves the team. (Verleiher-Text)
