General director Szigethy is a sports fan and has the habit of only employing people in his factory, in which toothpicks are manufactured, who are also into sports and do regular exercise themselves. Lajcsi, Szigethy's son, also undergoes the daily torture of morning exercise. He is off to the hills with Radován Micike, a pretty female colleague of his, who is also courted by the manager himself. Having had enough of this idler's life, Lajcsi takes on a job at Radován's, a pastry shop, where Sáray Márkus, a tailor by trade, (and the secret fiancé of Micike's widowed mother) also helps out, although none of them know much of the trade. Sáray György, the tailor's namesake, a football-player, is in love with the general director's daughter, Annie. Being refused by her, he even renounces his chance of playing in the national team. In the end, he decides to play and is rewarded by winning Annie. Szigethy gives up Micike, and Lajcsi can now marry her. (Verleiher-Text)
