Frühes 17. Jahrhundert. Samurai Mayeda macht sich zusammen mit Yorimune, dem jüngsten Sohn eines Feldherren, sowie dem hinterhältigen Pater Vasco auf die Reise nach Spanien, um dort 5000 Feuerwaffen zu kaufen, mit deren Hilfe das Shogunat endlich geeint werden soll. Am Hofe des Königs macht sich Mayeda Don Pedro zum Feind. Auf der Rückreise überschlagen sich die Ereignisse.
