The triumphant adventures of the Hungarian baron Münchausen are recounted in the form of a musical. In the pub at Nagyabony, the old Háry János remembers his one-time, great adventures to the pleasure of his drinking mates and the student. He helped Mária Lujza out of trouble at the Austrian border, the imperial daughter took him to the Burg of Vienna. There, Háry broke in the wild Arabic stallion and had breakfast with the sovereign as a prize. In the battlefields of Milan, he taught a lesson to the famous Napoleon becoming a true Hungarian. Following this, Emperor Franz offered him Mária Lujza's hand, but he remained faithful to his beloved Örzse. He left the imperial court celebrated by cannon salute and the singing of a choir, and returned to the village of Nagyabony to spend the rest of his life by happy story-telling. (Verleiher-Text)
