When the entire world was in quarantine, Kenyan journalism student Elsa kept her spirits up by posting funny videos on Instagram. In short witty monologues, she commented with a contagious laugh on the pandemic, invariably playing with sunglasses and crunching on chips. Her feisty, plain-speaking mockery was exactly what people needed at the time, and Elsa became an Instagram phenomenon. We now follow Elsa during a stay in New York, where she is preparing for a career as a comedian. She has fun trying on clothes in vintage shops and playing chess in the park - apart from being a comic, she is also a chess champion. In voice-over, she talks about her new identity as a role model for boundless self-confidence and the art of “being yourself” - but also about the toll it has taken on her.
