Eigentlich will Gorillaforscher Dr. Peter Elliot nur die gestresste Affendame Amy zurück zu ihren Artgenossen in den kongolesischen Urwald bringen. A stupid movie that is probably a parody of its source material. It's not adventurous or entertaining enough, let alone thrilling. A slow-moving bore with solid production design, good music and decent visual effects.

As a B-movie, it is good, but as an adaptation of Crichton's book Congo failed. That said, you can't deny the skillfully shot scenes, the beautiful Goldsmith score (shame about that) and the mechanical monkeys that look alive.
