Vera gets acquainted with Imre on a tram. Later, she learns that he is the brother of one of her pupils. They meet again. Imre's too passionate courting provokes refusal from the reserved school-teacher. Vera's mother finds a suitor by way of a newspaper advertisement, but Vera does not like the middle-class lawyer visiting their apartment. A newspaper article claims that the school-teacher is responsible for Majzik Erika's suicide. With Imre's help, a journalist of the daily "Népszabadság" clears her from the allegations. Vera refuses Gerlőtey and goes to Imre to confess her love. (Verleiher-Text)
