A very good 13-minute sci-fi short from Germany! It could be said that it is a detective story on a spaceship in the style of Knives Out, where one crew member starts killing and the viewer's task is to guess who it is. It cleverly pulls the wool over your eyes and the resolution is not completely predictable. The visuals and the atmosphere are great, good stuff. 8/10.

The Legend of El Cid is a bit of a disappointment for me, but it's not outright bad. It was nice to see Denver from Money Heist in a different role after a long time, and he is the main reason why I started watching the series. The Legend of El Cid has a relatively engaging story, the protagonist starts as a squire and has to build his career from the bottom, which is a theme I enjoy. The visuals and historical setting seem to be accurate, the intrigues, betrayals, and political schemes work more or less as well as in any other historical series, but the biggest letdown is unfortunately the action, which is almost nonexistent. I wouldn't mind so much if the first four episodes were plot-driven and the creators served up the expected long historical battle in the finale, but getting a battle of not even ten minutes in five hours felt like a betrayal to me. While I wasn't bored and the series moves quickly, I'm angry that it's once again heading in this direction. Why bother with any large battles when the audience is satisfied with political intrigues, right? For me, this overhyped comedy and Kevin Smith don't really click. There are a few decent lines (the discussion of Lord of the Rings vs Star Wars was cool), but otherwise it just flows without much surprise or interest. There's no downright burst of laughter and the story didn't seem very interesting to me either. Maybe ten years ago, it could've earned four stars, but definitely not today. 6/10.

Great Russian fantasy film! Although it is as intense as The Witcher, it is rather of a more fairy-tale nature, but still excellent and I appreciate the fact that the fantasy genre is slowly dying out. The film has a quite good and original story about a man who is transported from the present to the fantastic land of Belohoria, and I like that he can use abilities that he knows from normal life. There are plenty of classic fairy-tale elements. There is a water sprite, a giant, a witch with a walking house, a powerful wizard, and a dragon, and the movie manages to combine this world with effective humor, which was welcome. It also has great visuals and likeable main characters. Story****, Action****, Humor****, Violence>No, Entertainment****, Music*****, Visual****, Atmosphere****, Tension***. Solid. 8/10.

After this, I probably won't continue with the Philippines. The last five horror films from them were shit. They are not as ambitious as Indonesia, and I was really looking forward to this one, as it was not supposed to be a ghost story, but in the end, it turned out to be a drama, which someone even mentioned in a foreign review (fans of Robert Eggers will enjoy it), you know. It’s an intimate story about a daughter and a mother who will definitely not be the mother of the year, but unfortunately, the psycho terror didn't really work on me, and nothing really interesting happens even with a generous running time. The interesting ending with an interesting resolution was kind of fine, but it didn't save my lack of interest in the movie. A solid short from Slovakia with mutated animals. Visually, it is very good and it feels like a variation of Annihilation, which I like. A bit slow start, but then a decent ride. 6/10.

A visually very decent B-movie with robots that has a pretty cool concept and is not boring, but it didn't really captivate me that much. It's disappointing that there are relatively few soldiers, so there isn't much action, and besides, I prefer robots against robots, shooting at metal without much gore isn't very exciting. The action scene in the forest and the finale are okay, but the rest didn't impress me much. An entertaining tribute to the 1990s and 80s that you will either love or hate. It feels as if Power Rangers and Wishmaster had a child, but even though it is a B-movie, it has heart and it's great to see practical effects in action again! The film has a good pace, decent actors – though the little girl was annoying in places, her performance is absolutely confident and it was clear that she enjoyed her role. But the biggest star of the film is Psycho Goreman, who drops one wisecrack after another, and the gore is completely over the top, functioning extremely well as a splatter film. Surprisingly, I had fun and laughed more than I had hoped, and a there were a few nice references, especially to George Romero! I note that the film is not for everyone, especially teenagers have no chance of understanding it. It’s rather for those who grew up in the 90s, enjoy lowbrow humor, a lot of gore, and like to have fun without thinking too much. Great job for a Czech production. Beautiful camera work, forest, dialogues, and well-portrayed atmosphere of the wartime setting. 8/10.

It attempt to imitate the British version of The End of the F***ing World, but there is no expressive value. Fortunately, Myra Goldie is really cool, and thanks to her, this project looks good. I honestly expected worse English, and I liked the guitar-playing grandpa and his nice English accent. The cinematography is also fine, it just needs some more humor, the creators are on the right track. 6/10.
