A strong story about a man who falls into drugs and becomes a walking wreck. And just when it seems like he's a lost cause, he goes into treatment, gets himself together, and goes on to win the Triathlon at the Olympics. I really enjoy these stories of downfall, loss, and the desire to triumph. Although I would have liked more races and sports, in the end, it is more of a drama about drug addicts. However, it’s not boring, it keeps the viewer's attention, and that is important. 8/10.

An interesting relationship between mother and son, where the mother is Death. Nice animation and an engaging storyline, but it didn't really captivate me. 6/10.

A very underrated thriller from Spain that, although it does not reach the quality of its predecessors and may not be remembered as a classic in a year, does not mean that it is not exciting, suspenseful, and entertaining. An armored vehicle with six prisoners is attacked at night by a mysterious assailant who has a grudge against one of the prisoners, but is willing to execute anyone if they do not cooperate. Javier Gutiérrez is a proven actor who became famous primarily for During the Storm and The Occupant, so there is no shortage of solid performances, and the characters of the prisoners are also interesting and appropriately unpleasant in their own way. The film deals the cards quite quickly, but it can occasionally surprise with an interesting twist. It is sufficiently suspenseful, sometimes gripping, and unexpectedly brutal at times (a severed hand, a fire extinguisher, a screw), and for that, I commend it. I am also satisfied with the final resolution, which, although not shocking, definitely makes sense. I am satisfied, I had a great time. A small but solid hit from this year on Netflix. A visually engaging 5-minute short about a robot who thinks it has a family. The opening fight is decent and the concept is also cool, just a shame about the abrupt ending. But it is worth watching. 6/10.

An eager horror film from Russia. If the whole movie had followed the historical atmosphere of the introduction, it could have been an atmospheric film, but unfortunately, the shift to modern times makes The Bride a somewhat generic film that brings nothing new. The plus side is Viktoriya Agalakova, who is a beautiful woman and nice to watch, and the technical aspect, which is not very different from what the Americans do. Unfortunately, the scares hardly work, maybe one or two at most, the atmosphere is not very intense, and violence is also lacking, so for me, it is average in almost every aspect, but it won't outright offend fans of this type of films. A decent war movie about the Georgian army wanting to take over territory. For Russian standards, there are decent visuals and lighter fantasy elements that include a little boy having fantasies with a giant robot (the finale is like Transformers), but otherwise it's 80% war drama. There is quite a bit of action, but it lacks gore and isn't very intense, which deducts points. Nevertheless, it's enjoyable to watch, there are no dull moments, and from a historical perspective, the film is also interesting. Had I seen it eight years ago I would have probably rated it at 4 and a half stars. I got myself a copy of Unfriended: Dark Web, which for unknown reasons I ignored back then, and I am definitely surprised at how much I enjoyed it. The main character is a teenager who finds a laptop and upon logging in, discovers that the owner not only watches him, but also wants his laptop back and is willing to go to extremes. The film has a very good pace, something is constantly happening, it is interesting, manages to surprise, and rather than being terrifying, it is disturbing and uncomfortable, and to some extent, quite psychotic. It's a bit disappointing that the scenes with disturbing videos don't last longer, and there are a few unnecessary decisions, but overlooking that it is a bit silly, it kept my attention for 90 minutes more than well. I have a weakness for these Skype horrors, as they feel more realistic than anything else. An excellent and tough martial art short from Power Rangers. It has great visuals and great fights that meet the strictest parameters. There is also a twist and the dark side definitely suits it. Awesome! 8/10.

A solid and original short with a nicely done villain, a good twist, a bit of gore, and decent atmosphere. Definitely worth sacrificing the time. 7/10.

I postponed watching this movie for eight years, but in the end, I gave it a chance and it turned out exactly as I had hoped. Unfortunately, I cannot appreciate this. Across the River is extremely slow, cheap and uninteresting horror where there is no dialogue and nothing happens at all. I don't see a reason why I should watch a man smoke, drink, sit, sleep, and warm his hands by the fire, this wouldn't pass as drama, let alone horror. It seems to me that for some people, the word "atmospheric" is synonymous with boring and unexciting. If at least there were some scary moments, but it's not suspenseful, entertaining, or interesting in any way. No gore, no jump-scares, no apparitions. The screenplay is missing, the visuals are terrible, the acting is nothing special, and even the atmosphere didn't seem very unpleasant to me. I'm trying to find something positive about this movie, but no matter how hard I look, I can't find anything. Artsy film for a niche audience.
