Biografie
Daniel Pitín (b. 1977, Prague) attended Prague’s Academy of Fine Arts (2002), where he studied painting and conceptual media. He was accepted to residencies in Vienna (Kulturkontakt Austria, 2005) and with HVCCA, Peakskill, in New York (2010). Awards: Henkel Prize (2004, Vienna), Paintings – Sovereign European Art Prize (2006, London), Mattoni Prize, Prague Biennale 3. He focuses on classical painting and audiovisual installations inspired by film. His work has been shown at numerous prestigious Czech and foreign exhibitions.
