Biografie

He is an illustration devotee and is professionally dedicated to this discipline since 1998. He has illustrated more than 45 published books, mainly in Uruguay but also in Argentina, Mexico and Norway. Soderguit has studied Fine Arts, Architecture and Film. He starts his career in animation in the year 2000, as video artist and in 2005 he begins his dedication to cinema as art director. He has been awarded with several prizes for his work in literature illustration, music videos and cinematography. Moreover, he has participated in events such as Frankfurt's Book Fair and the Bratislava Illustration Biennale. Soderguit has been a juror for cinema works and projects, and graphic narrative in Uruguay, Colombia and Spain. In 2005 he commenced the development of his first long feature Anina, which was first released at the Generation Section for the 63rd Berlinale in 2013. Anina has been selected in important festivals such as Berlin, London, San Sebastian, Cartagena of the Indies, Busan, Toronto, Buenos Aires, Palm Springs and New York among many others. It has toured more than 30 countries and obtained 15 awards and 4 key nominations; among them, the nomination as best Ibero-American film at the Ariel Prize.
