Marialy Rivas, born in Chile, is a director and screenwriter. In 2010 she released her short film Blokes, based on a short story by Pedro Lemebel. The film premiered at the Cannes Festival in its official competition. In 2014 she directed the short film There is a Hope, made with the support of the Sundance Institute and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. In 2012 she made her first feature film, Joven & Alocada, produced by Fabula and premiered at Sundance 2012, where it won Best Screenplay.
