Biografie

Journalist, producer and filmmaker Matt Sarnecki studied political sciences and history at Columbia University in New York. After being awarded a scholarship at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague, Sarnecki returned to New York to work for several years in the TV and documentary filmmaking sectors. He moved to San Francisco in 2011 and graduated with a master's in journalism from the University of California. In 2017, Sarnecki co-directed the documentary film Killing Pavel, which won an IRE Award. His debut feature-length documentary film The Killing of a Journalist had its world premiere at the Hot Docs festival.
