Biografie

Pancho G. Matienzo trained as an actor at Cristina Rota’s Drama School and studied at Catalonia’s Centre for Film Studies, where he earned a degree in Cinematography. He also completed ECAM’s Filmmaking Course (‘Fisuras de lo real’) taught by Victor Erice, Sergio Oksman and Alberto Morais. He has worked on the camera crew in films like A Tram in Spain (Aitzol Aramaio, 2008), Biutiful (Alejandro G. Iñárritu, 2010), The Double Steps (Isaki Lacuesta, 2011), Clay Diary (Isaki Lacuesta, 2011) or The King of Havana (Agustí Villaronga, 2015). The documentary El viaje de Julieta is his directorial debut.
