Biografie
Markus Imboden (1955) is a Swiss screenwriter and director. He studied German studies and history. He first worked in theater, then later began shooting short films. He made his debut with the feature-length Bingo (1990). He established himself mainly due to television, where he directed almost thirty films and series, as well as the comedy The Cat Thieves (Katzendiebe, 1996). From his later films we should mention, e.g., Comedian (Komiker, 2000), Heidi (2001) and The Foster Boy (Der Verdingbub, 2011). Markus Imboden is also a teacher.
