Biografie
Emma Bunton has been successful in just about every area of the entertainment sector, whether as a multi-million selling recording artist, hitting the air-waves in her role as a DJ, or her most recent work as a television presenter and judge.
One fifth of one of the most successful bands ever, the Spice Girls, who sold over 55 million records and 35 millions albums worldwide. They were the fastest selling UK band since The Beatles and had 9 UK Number Ones. When the band reformed for a re-union tour in 2007, over 3 million people registered for tickets in the space of just four weeks, with London's O2 selling out in 37 seconds
After the Spice Girls, Bunton carved out a career as a successful solo artist, and had a string of hits including 'Maybe', a cover of the iconic 'Downtown' (the proceeds of which went to Children In Need) plus the Chart topping 'What Took You So Long'. In January 2010 Bunton made her debut as a judge on the "Ice Panel" for ITV1's prime time show Dancing On Ice. In 2010, she fronted Five's new live entertainment show, Don't Stop Believing. The weekly show scoured Britain for all-singing, all-dancing musical groups. The end of May in 2010 saw Bunton cover for presenter Lorraine Kelly on the sofa interviewing a host of celebrity friends and guests. Such was her success that she was asked to return to the sofa in August 2010 when Lorraine was on holiday.
In 2011 Bunton once again appeared in Absolutely Fabulous in the new specials that Jennifer Saunders created. She also starred in the Absolutely Fabulous Sport Relief Special in March 2012. In 2012 Bunton launched her own children's line with Argos for babies and children aged 2 – 10. During the London Olympics 2012 the Spice Girls reformed for the spectacular closing ceremony. In December 2012 Bunton joined her band mates at the worldwide premiere of VIVA Forever, the new Spice Girls musical. Written by Jennifer Saunders and produced by Judy Cramer – it's a wonderfully joyous contemporary musical about the value of friendship in the face of fame and fortune.
In the summer of 2013 Bunton was a judge on the ITV show "Your Face Sounds Familiar" and was also the face of a big UNICEF / Pampers campaign helping create awareness about MNT (Maternal and Newborn Tetanus). The campaign was a huge success and she was asked to front the same campaign again in 2014, this time she went out to see the work in Madagascar. In September 2014, Bunton flew out to Mexico to be a guest judge on "The X Factor" with her fellow Spice Girl Mel B, where they decided on the final three in the boys' category.
