Rebecca Hall

Rebecca Hall has been honored for her work on the stage and screen.  In 2013, she starred in three very different films: the blockbuster "Iron Man 3," with Robert Downey, Jr.; the thriller "Closed Circuit," with Eric Bana; and "A Promise," which premiered at the Venice Film Festival.

Hall previously received acclaim for her work in Woody Allen's "Vicky Cristina Barcelona," earning Golden Globe, BAFTA Orange Rising Star, London Critics Circle and Gotham Award nominations in the performance and breakthrough categories.  In 2010, she starred in the dramatic thriller "The Town," opposite Ben Affleck, who also directed the film.  The cast, which also included Jeremy Renner, Jon Hamm, and Blake Lively, won a National Board of Review Award and shared in a Critics' Choice Award nomination for Outstanding Ensemble. 

That same year, she starred in Nicole Holofcener's "Please Give," for which she earned an Evening Standard British Film Award nomination for Best Actress, in addition to winning the Robert Altman Award at the Independent Spirit Awards as a member of the ensemble cast.  She more recently earned a British Independent Film Award nomination for Best Actress for her role in "The Awakening," which premiered at the 2011 Toronto Film Festival.

Hall's other film credits include Oliver Parker's "Dorian Gray"; Ron Howard's "Frost/Nixon," for which she shared in a Screen Actors Guild Award® nomination for Outstanding Cast Performance; Christopher Nolan's "The Prestige," for which she received UK Empire Award and London Critics Circle Award nominations for Best Newcomer; and Tom Vaughan's "Starter for 10," which marked her feature film debut.

On television, Hall  starred opposite Benedict Cumberbatch in HBO's "Parade's End," earning a BAFTA TV Award nomination for Best Actress.  Among her other credits are Julian Jarrold's "Red Riding: In the Year of Our Lord 1974," for which she won a BAFTA TV Award for Best Supporting Actress; Philip Martin's "Einstein and Eddington"; Stephen Poliakoff's "Joe's Palace"; Brendan Maher's "Wide Sargasso Sea"; Stuart Orme's "Don't Leave Me This Way"; and Peter Hall's "The Camomile Lawn."

On the stage, Hall won an Ian Charleson Award for her West End performance as Vivie in "Mrs. Warren's Profession," under the direction of her father, Peter Hall.  She earned a second Ian Charleson Award nomination when she played Rosalind in "As You Like It," which opened at the Theatre Royal Bath, and later toured in both the UK and U.S.  Her appearances at the Theatre Royal Bath also include the title role in Timberlake Wertenbaker's "Galileo's Daughter," and the role of Ann Whitfield in George Bernard Shaw's "Man and Superman," both directed by Peter Hall, and "Don Juan" and D. H. Lawrence's "The Fight for Barbara," both under the direction of Thea Sharrock. 

Her additional stage repertoire includes portraying Varya in "The Cherry Orchard"; Hermione in "A Winter's Tale," receiving an Evening Standard Theatre Award nomination; and Viola in Peter Hall's production of "Twelfth Night," at the National Theatre in London, which was a celebration of Peter Hall's 80th birthday.
