Xuban Intxausti has a degree in Audiovisual Communication from the University of the Basque Country. Over his career of 15 years in the audiovisual world he has focused on directing documentaries on human rights, an activity he exercises through his production company Humanistic. Amongst the titles he has directed are In Dialogue (2016), Dresden Refuge (2016), Mugaminak (2016), included in the San Sebastian Festival season “The Act of Killing. Cinema and global violence”, Street Dancers (2016), Messages at the Border (2017), School on the Move (2016), Sounds of Resilience (2017), Grietas (2018), made for Amnesty International and awarded a prize at the Reino de León Film and TV Festival, and the Amazon Prime Video series Back to Basketball (2022).
