Erik Van Looy

Erik Van Looy was born in Belgium in 1962. He works as a director and screenwriter. Before making films, Erik directed programmes for TV. His directed his first feature film Ad Fundum (1993), followed by Shades (1999) and Memory of a Killer (2003). His film Loft (2008) is considered the most successful film in Belgian cinematic history. As host of the hugely popular and long-running quiz show The Smartest Person in the World, he has raked in several awards.
