Biografie

Roja Gashtili and Julia Lerman are fellows in AFI's Directing Workshop for Women where they completed the short film Rita Mahtoubian Is Not a Terrorist which premiered at the 2015 Tribeca Film festival. In 2013, they were recipients of the Tribeca Film Institute's All Access grant. In 2010, they were selected for the Emerging Narrative Labs at IFP's Film Week for their screenplay, Pretty To Think So which was optioned by Andrea Roa ( Unexpected, Drinking Buddies ) and Kit Bland ( Now, Forager).

In the summer of 2011, they were selected by the Norwegian government as artists in residence at the USF Verftet in Bergen where they lived on a dock and drank overpriced beers. Roja's credits include the Oscar nominated, No End In Sight, Morgan Spurlock's A Day in the Life Martin Scorsese's George Harrison: Living in the Material World and Saturday Night Live: In The 90s produced by Lorne Michaels. Julia's credits include MTV's True Life and the Emmy award winning This American Life . She is a graduate of Wesleyan University.
