1:0 für Jitka

In the 70s, a frequently aired film from the youth programs category, today, I think somewhat outdated, but still a likeable affair. At least the cast (if we ignore nostalgia) is worth watching once. (28.12.2007)

A profound probe into the psyche of a big girl with a talent not just for shot putting, but also for making strange, ambiguous expressions to all points of the compass. Jandák is a tough guy, you have to give it to him. No wonder that the likes of Belmondo, Delon or other similar strapping lads from the West couldn’t have represented the slightest competition. I write so tragically about it like my fellow user, Faidra. Crime or no crime - a sex symbol once, a sex symbol forever and never otherwise! If I were an elderly Social Democrat, then I would still be rooting for that cute two-ton hunk to this day. Just for his cute little deer snout after ten shots of homemade slivovitz. (18.04.2008)

I literally devoured Stanislav Rudolf's books when I was a girl, and I consider Little Fatty to be a very successful adaptation. The theme song Hidden Beauty performed by Miluška Voborníková was also excellent and basically all involved shone with great acting performances. When I was at school, I was skinny as anything, but I didn't excel in gymnastics, maybe that's why I could identify with the main character Jitka more easily. In hindsight, I have to say that Vítězslav Jandák didn't look bad at the time, I probably would have fallen in love with him too. Anyway, it's a movie I always like to watch when it comes round.
