Der Mond ist ein schöner Ort

At home on the Moon. 8 year-old Nurie lives with her parents in a remote village in the Albanian mountains. Gradually the locals have been leaving the area in search of work and now there is hardly anybody left. Nonetheless Nurie’s world is full of adventure. Instead of wearing skirts and playing with other girls, she swordfights and climbs old castle ruins. There is only one thing that her parents cannot abide: for her to one day become like the adults who work in the factory. With childlike ease the films tells of a land in upheaval, of migration and the hope of a better future. (DOK.fest München)
