In the long term, Ann Hui takes interest in people on the margin of society's attention who have been denied a chance to speak openly of their problems or needs. Her recent motion picture, My Way, which forms part of the Beautiful 2012 omnibus, is based on a true story. It tells the story of Chow Kwok-Choi, a middle-aged man who has a good job and a happy family, yet he does not feel up to the mark. Literally.
