Ex-Militärspezialist Jeff ist mit seiner Familie in Neapel, um einen letzten geheimen Auftrag zu erledigen. Zwischenzeitlich wollen sich Frau und Tochter Pompeij ansehen. Doch prompt werden sie von einem Vesuv-Ausbruch überrascht und sitzen in der Falle. Jeff bahnt sich verzweifelt einen Weg durch Lava und Asche, um die beiden zu retten. (TELE 5)

When something new and catastrophic comes to the cinema, there is a high probability that a cheaper version of such a film will appear. It is usually a B-movie, with a bad screenplay and mostly boring. Given that Paul W. S. Anderson released "Pompeii" in cinemas, the low-budget version did not take long to appear. However, one difference is that "Apocalypse Pompeii" is set in the present, not during the actual eruption of Vesuvius. You get exactly what you expect. The quality is terrible, but it is still entertaining in some places.
